the weekend with HMCI

Jovi called me last friday about the Rappelling1, SRT2 and BMC3 exercise at provincial capitol's eco-village rock wall, "then at the same time we'll take some shots for our modules", he said. And so we (jovi, pat, alej, man, divino, patty and me) did. It has almost been 5 yrs. since my last climb and SRT exercise, I was really wasted, hehehe, but it was great, then we packed-up at 3 and agreed to have some booze at my haus, just a bottle of premium gin and one RH+... by the way, i'll be posting the pictures in my photo blog page - me, myself and arvin, soon...

1 Rappelling is one of the ways climbers descend rocks with the use of harnesses and carabiners and belay devices.
2 Single Rope Techniques.
3 Basic Mountaineering Course.

d' Archers prevails

The defending champion De La Salle University Archers blew past their bitter rivals Ateneo de Manila University Eagles, 78 - 60, in their first meeting in the 68th UAAP basketball season yesterday at the packed Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. The Archers, fielding their smallest lineup in years, relied on their offensive firepower from the three-point area to take a 20-13 edge in the first quarter. They opened the second with a 16-0 blast, including three triples from Casio, for a 36-13 cushion. THE SMALLER La Salle Archers didn't look too bad after all.

But, why???, what's happening blue eagles, what's wrong, lang' 'ya! BUMAWI kayo!!!

terror strikes again

There were multiple bombings in london this week, and it is said to be the work of the terrorists. More than 33 people were killed and hundreds injured after four bombs ripped through London's underground network and tore the roof off a bus during Thursday morning rush hour. FOREIGN Affairs spokesman Gilberto Asuque on Friday said a Filipino woman injured in the London blasts is out of danger. However, he refused to name the Filipina, saying the family had requested for privacy.

my first violation ticket...

after SJH and Sto. niño, we've [tisoy, kim, butch(netspeed) and me] decided to have our dinner at bombay blues, the sizzling shawarma with rice, then why not a have a couple of lights, so we've gone to san diego, just 1 bucket coz the place was dead calm, then we're off to molino's, 2 buckets of lights, after that I rode with tisoy, then boom there was blue flag (the long arm of the law), we pulled over and there it was my first vioation ticket, huh, a 75 buck offense...

FAMILY (courtesy of Mr. Frederick Lim)

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said good-bye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."
By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think? So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = FATHER AND MOTHER I LOVE YOU

God Bless our Family ! ! !
